A Call After 9/11, Ahead of the Winter Olympics
Starbucks reached out to our team to secure their storefront windows in Salt Lake City shortly after the September 11th attacks, as the city prepared to host the 2002 Winter Olympics amid planned World Trade protests. With large crowds, heightened security concerns, and extensive glass storefronts, Starbucks needed a fast, reliable way to reduce the risk of shattered glass and flying debris without changing the look of their stores.
Safety & Security Film for Patron Protection
3M Ultra security window film was applied to hold glass together on impact, reducing the risk of injury from breakage caused by forced entry, severe weather, or crowd-related incidents. The film is virtually invisible once installed, preserving the bright, open storefront look that’s central to the Starbucks retail experience while giving store teams and customers added peace of mind.
Since that first Salt Lake City project, we’ve extended safety and security film installations to more than 20 Starbucks locations, applying the same standard: protection that customers and partners never have to think about.
